Julia Shiplett

Julia Shiplett (born June 10, 1987, in Chicago) is a New York–based writer, comedian, actress, and performer known for her distinctive comedic voice. She’s a regular presence in the city’s comedy scene — performing at venues like The Stand and festivals such as the Brooklyn Comedy Festival — and has earned recognition from Comedy Central, TBS, and Vulture as a rising talent.

On screen, she portrays Mimi in the Amazon Prime series “Overcompensating” (cast in 2024) and has appeared in shows like “Love Life”, “High Maintenance”, and “Crashing”, as well as films such as “Happiness for Beginners” (Netflix, 2023) and “Turn Me On” (IFC, 2024).
