Angharad Rees was a London-born Welsh actress and, later, jewellery designer, best known for her British television roles during the 1970s and in particular her leading role as Demelza in the 1970s BBC TV costume drama "Poldark".
Rees had an early acting career in film, appearing in such titles as the Kirk Douglas comedy "Catch Me a Spy" (1971), "Hands of the Ripper" (1971) and "Under Milk Wood" (1971). She also appeared in the TV movie "Jane Eyre" (NBC, 1970-71). She also appeared in the TV special "Once the Killing Starts" (ABC, 1973-74). She also starred in the TV movies "Baffled!" (NBC, 1972-73) and "The Gathering Storm" (NBC, 1974-75). During these years, she additionally appeared in film, receiving a role in "Moments" (1974).
She also had a part in the TV miniseries "Master of the Game" (1983-84). She also appeared in "La Petite fille en velours bleu" (1978). Most recently, Rees acted in the dramatic adaptation "The Wolves of Kromer" (2000) with Lee Williams.
