Your Full Guide to the ‘Icebreaker’ Cast: Who’s Playing Nate, Stassie, Lola & More
After the smashing success of Heated Rivalry for HBO and Off Campus for Prime Video, Netflix is getting into the hockey romance action with Icebreaker, an adaptation of Hannah Grace’s Maple Hills, named after the first book in the BookTok favorite series.
Icebreaker follows Stassie (Daisy Jelley), a collegiate figure skater with her sights set on the Olympics. Her world — and training schedule — is completely thrown off the rails when her team is forced to share a rink with the Maple Hills Titans hockey team after theirs is destroyed. Learning to share is hard for preschoolers and collegiate athletes alike, so the captain of the hockey team, Nate (Connor Simos), quickly becomes her number one enemy. But don’t worry, it’s nothing a few (steamy) icebreakers can’t solve!

Connor Simos as Nate
Nate Hawkins is Icebreaker star Connor Simos’ first major role! He is an Australian actor who graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art in Kensington in 2024. He’ll be taking the ice as Nate, the Captain of the Maple Hill Titans and a sports medicine major, who falls head over skates for Stassie after their teams are forced to share the same rink.
Daisy Jelley as Anastasia
You might recognize our Anastasia “Stassie” Allen, Daisy Jelley, from Geek Girl, in which she played Poppy, or as Amber in How to Date Billy Walsh. The British actress is 26 years old and stands at 5-foot-9, just a few inches shorter than 6-foot-1 Simos. Jelley will be playing Stassie, a stubborn pairs figure skater, who finds herself at the heart of Icebreaker.
Auli'i Cravalho as Lola
Stassie’s bestie Lola will be brought to life by Auli’i Cravalho, an actress and singer from Kohala, Hawaii, who is best known for voicing Moana in the 2016 Disney film when she was 14. Now, at 25, she will be playing Lola, Stassie’s roommate, who may or may not have her own love story with someone connected to the hockey team.
Peter Berry as Robbie
Another on-screen newbie, Wheelchair Basketball star Peter Berry, is making his acting debut in Icebreaker as Robbie, Nate’s roommate, best friend, and the assistant coach of the Maple Hills hockey team. Berry is a 24-year-old athlete from Texas who became paralyzed from the waist down following a car accident at age 9. His character, Robbie, is also paralyzed from the waist down and uses a wheelchair.
Gabriel Tierney as Aaron
Here comes trouble! Rivals star (mustache not included) Gabriel Tierney is taking on the role of Aaron, Stassie’s skating partner and roommate. Tierney is 29 years old, making him the oldest cast member. The villain of Stassie and Nate’s love story, Aaron is jealous of Stassie’s relationships and incredibly toxic when it comes to their partnership, both on and off the ice.
Chaneil Kular as JJ
Chaneil Kular is stepping into the role of Jaiden Johal, a.k.a. JJ, one of Nate’s other roommates. Another player for Maple Hills, JJ is openly pansexual and known for giving the best advice on the team. Kular is a 27-year-old British actor and recently starred in Netflix’s Best of the Best.
Aidan Shaw as Russ
Did someone say Wildfire? Canadian hockey romance alum Aidan Shaw is stepping into the role of Russ, the MMC of the Icebreaker sequel. Russ is a sophomore in Icebreaker who is on the quieter side compared to his teammates. While this is one of Shaw’s biggest roles to date, you may recognize him from Heated Rivalry, Finding Her Edge, or the upcoming season of We Were Liars. Aurora Roberts, come get your man!
Devin Craig as Henry
The Maple Hill Titans’ biggest cinnamon roll has entered the rink. As the first hockey player to befriend Stassie, viewers will quickly find out that art major Henry has no filter. The Wildfire lead will be brought to life by Devin Craig, a 28-year-old actor based in California, best known for playing Isaiah in The Sex Lives of College Girls.
