How did Conner Weigman and Hope Griffin meet?

Conner and Hope met in high school. They both attended Bridgeland High School in Texas and then attended college together at Texas A&M. Conner announced in December 2024 that he would be transferring to the University of Houston. The colleges are about 100 miles apart, so Conner and Hope began navigating a long-distance relationship in 2025.

After Conner’s final game for Texas A&M in December 2024, Hope wrote on Instagram, “From sixteen in our high school stadium to twenty in our college town, watching your dream front seat has been the best of my college – Proud of the person behind the player.”

Per a GoFundMe created to raise money for Hope’s medical care, it was revealed that she could not move her arms or hands when she was first transported to the emergency room after the accident. By the time she was life-flighted to another hospital, she was able to move her arms. The following day, she had emergency spinal fusion surgery, which is when doctors determined that she “would likely never walk again.”

However, on the one-year anniversary of her accident, Hope confirmed that she had learned to walk and said she was “living a miracle.” As of May 2026, she was still in physical therapy five days a week and had done three stem cell treatments, with a fourth planned for the summer.

“She also drives herself to Physical Therapy, to College Station, out to the country, into town to get coffee, and wherever she wants in her car with mobility hand-controls,” the one-year update confirmed.
