What To Know

  • Alexis Lete and Johnny Bananas had a showmance on Season 42 of The Challenge.
  • Lete confirms that they tried dating after filming but it did not work out.
  • She also reveals where their relationship stands now.

Johnny Bananas has had plenty of showmances on The Challenge over the years, and in Season 42, he was involved with rookie Alexis Lete. They’re now running against each other on separate teams in the final challenge.

Things didn’t end between Bananas and Lete when the cameras went down, though. “We tried it outside of the house,” Lete confirms to Swoon. However, they eventually went their separate ways after Bananas told Lete, “I want to focus on my stuff I have going on,” she says.

While the relationship didn’t work out romantically, Lete and Bananas are still good friends. “I love Johnny,” she shares. “Yeah, I love him as a person. And honestly, honestly, we talk a lot more consistently now that we’re in a loving friendship. I’d say like there’s no like, ‘Oh, you’re not gonna text me back? Then, I won’t text you back.’ It’s just like … you appreciate each other, and I really appreciate our time we had on the show together. Like, truly had a great time.”

Lete also says she wants to team up with Bananas on The Amazing Race in the future. “[He] and I would slay at The Amazing Race,” she confirms. “I think it’d be funny.”

In the Season 42 final, Lete is leading an underdog all-girl team (with Cara Maria Sorbello, Cassidy Clark, and Adrienne Naylor) against Bananas, CT Tamburello, Will Gagnon, Tori Deal, and Michele Fitzgerald. The girls are slightly ahead after Part 1, but there’s still a lot of race left to be run.

Lete is a former professional wrestler who came to The Challenge after competing on Deal or No Deal Island, where she finished as the runner-up in 2024. Bananas, meanwhile, is on his 24th season of the Paramount+ series (not including spinoffs).
