Are ‘Gold Rush’s Parker Schnabel & Ashley Youle Still Together? All About Their Romance
Parker Schnabel has been living life in the public eye since he was just 16 years old. He’s been starring on Discovery Channel’s Gold Rush since its very first season, and while the show mostly documents his work in the gold mining business, fans have also gotten a peek inside his life outside of work.
That, of course, includes his love life. In 2016, Schnabel started dating Ashley Youle after they met in the gold mining offseason. He introduced her to viewers on Season 7 of Gold Rush, and they quickly became a fan-favorite couple.

Are Parker Schnabel and Ashley Youle still together?
No, Schnabel and Youle, a veterinary nurse, broke up in 2018 after two years together.
The former couple met while Schnabel was traveling in Australia, where Youle is from, in 2018. She returned to the Yukon with him for the gold mining season.
On a 2018 episode of Gold Rush, Schnabel blamed himself for the split. “Ashley and I broke up. I just never really made the relationship a priority, didn’t make her a priority, and she deserves a lot better than that,” he admitted. “At the end of the day, I do think she is doing what’s best for her and that’s the hardest part of it. It’s a real shame.”
Is Parker Schnabel in a relationship?
It’s believed that Schnabel is currently single, although he told People in 2025 that he was going to keep his personal life private going forward.

“I think that’s probably for the best,” he admitted. “Just keep my personal life out of the media and the show and from talking about it too much. I think that that’s not a very good thing that I’ve done in the past, and so I’m trying to keep my personal life private.”
In 2024, he admitted that his job makes dating quite difficult. “It’s hard to explain [what I do] without it sounding like some dystopian insane world,” he said in another People interview. “I’m in the woods and you’re living in a f**king bunker washing rocks, looking for little shiny rocks. Then it makes dating incredibly difficult. They’re like, ‘What do you do?’ I’m like, ‘I don’t know.'”
Does Parker Schnabel have kids?
No, Schnabel does not have any children. However, he previously told People that he’s hoping to have kids in the future.
“I do hope to have a family and a life outside of TV eventually,” he revealed in the 2024 interview. “I do have a life outside of TV, but the show will end completely I think before I have kids, I would suspect.”
Once he does have a family, Schnabel won’t force them into the gold mining business, though. “I think that that’s a hundred years outdated,” he confirmed.
Schnabel added, “One of the best things about my upbringing is my parents didn’t push me in any direction. My dad ran a construction company and there was zero pressure to be involved in what you would consider the family business. My grandpa was running basically a hobby gold mine. Most years they found a hundred ounces of gold. It was a money-losing venture for 20 years.”
