All About ‘Cupertino’ Star Mike Colter’s Wife & Their Family
Mike Colter is back on TV, and not as Luke Cage this time. The actor is playing attorney Michael Price in the new CBS legal drama series, Cupertino, from Robert and Michelle King.
Since before his acting career started, Mike has been married to his wife, Iva Colter. She was by his side at a special Cupertino screening on September 30. Over their 24 years of marriage, Mike and Iva have welcomed two kids together. Who is Iva Colter?
Iva is currently the Chief People Officer at Wonder Project. She worked for over nine years at Netflix as the vice president of Talent Acquisition. Iva and Mike also founded Niles + Chaz, a clean hair care line for mixed-texture hair. They were inspired by their own kids.
How did Mike and Iva Colter meet?
Mike met his wife in 2000 while attending Rutgers University. They were both getting their graduate degrees. “I met my wife when I was struggling, and I was in grad school,” he revealed on The Breakfast Club in 2016. They married in 2002.
How many kids do Mike and Iva Colter have?
Mike and Iva have two daughters. Their oldest daughter, Naiella, aka Niles, was born in 2016. Their second child came along in 2018.

“It is a constant juggling act,” Mike told BASIC magazine about parenthood in 2024. “I do better at certain times and other times, I’m just like, well, this week wasn’t great.There will be two weeks when I am being a really great dad and doing the best that I can as an actor. You’re multitasking every day.”
Is Mike Colter related to Viola Davis?
Yes! Mike and Viola are second cousins. Mike’s paternal grandmother and Viola’s maternal grandfather were siblings. Despite their familial connection, Mike and Viola didn’t even meet until 2019.
“Honestly, we had never met but our families have family reunions, and they talk about us and stuff. They are very proud of us,” Mike previously said on The Talk.
