It’s been a hot second since we’ve seen everyone’s favorite Hollywood Arts alum, Trina Vega. Ahead of her onscreen return to the Victorious universe in the spinoff series Hollywood Arts, which premieres on October 15, Daniella Monet sat down with Swooon to reveal if there’s been any movement in Trina’s love life since high school.
Hollywood Arts follows Trina’s return to her performing arts school as a substitute teacher. Joined by a new class of stars and a few returning guest stars, including Matt Bennett as Robbie and Eric Lange as Sikowitz, Monet explores a new chapter in Trina’s life. According to Monet, the new series also explores Trina’s love life. Exactly how we like it!
“I know a little bit now that we’ve filmed Hollywood Arts,” Monet explained. “We’ve dug into the idea of Trina having several dates and dating experiences.” Like high school, it sounds like nothing has stuck just yet.

From Trina delivering a pizza to her crush from a faux pizza place to consistently pursuing Beck (Avan Jogia), Victorious made it clear that Trina has a unique brand of flirting. “I think Trina is going to Trina,” Monet joked. “That’s sort of my motto now. When I think about her, I’m like, ‘She’s just going to Trina.'”
Still, Monet assured fans that Trina’s doing just fine on her own, too. “I don’t know that she really needs a partner, or maybe she just hasn’t met the right partner for her,” Monet revealed. “But she explores it in this next show.”
While romance was certainly an aspect of Victorious, there weren’t too many actual relationships, except for Beck and Jade (Elizabeth Gillies). However, if there’s anything that fans learned from the reboot of iCarly, it’s that new love stories can bloom when returning to fan-favorite Nickelodeon universes. Could romance be Trina’s greatest adventure yet?
