Get to Know L.A. Dodgers Star Mookie Betts’ Wife & Family

Mookie Betts is making another MLB playoff run with the Los Angeles Dodgers. Off the field, the pro athlete has a major support system, all led by his wife and longtime love, Brianna Betts (née Hammonds).

Brianna has been there for all the highs and lows of Mookie’s career, and she’ll be cheering him on in this postseason once again. Scroll down to learn more about her and the couple’s long-term relationship.

Who is Mookie Betts’ wife?

Per her Instagram bio, Brianna is an entrepreneur and philanthropist. She is the founder of Honee, “the first cold-pressed, HPP organic juice made specifically for kids — in a pouch with a no-spill spout,” according to the brand’s website.

She and Mookie also created the 5050 Foundation in 2021. The organization was created with “the goal of providing youth in their community with the support needed for success both on and off the field – specifically with resources in the realms of physical activity, nutrition, mental health, and financial literacy.”

How did Mookie Betts meet his wife?

Mookie and Brianna were just teenagers when they met in middle school. She was in seventh grade and he was in eighth. “One of my best friends who passed away thought [Mookie] was cute and I said, ‘Girl go talk to him!’” Brianna recalled. “She was too scared to talk to him, so I told him, ‘My girlfriend likes you. Will you talk to her?’ …And he kept saying no.”

But Mookie thought Brianna was cute and asked her on a date a few months later. “When I finally asked her out, she said she didn’t hear me, but she heard me,” he revealed. “So the next day I end up asking her again.” They started dating shortly after that.

This happened in the early 2000s, but Mookie didn’t propose until January 2021. They tied the knot that December, less than a year later.

How many children does Mookie Betts have?

Mookie and Brianna have three children. Their daughter, Kynlee, was born in November 2018, years before they tied the knot. Mookie has said that watching Brianna become a mother is what solidified to him that he wanted to spend forever with her.
