‘You+Me – Against the World’: Everything We Know About a Sequel Movie

You+Me – Against the World has hit Prime Video. Like many other romance adaptation movies from the streamer, Toi+Moi — if we’re calling it by its French title — depicts a tumultuous romance with a not-quite-wrapped-up ending. (Warning: Spoilers ahead for You+Me.)

Alma (Vittoria Di Savoia) and Vadim (Lucas Barski) fall for each other despite being opposites, but collaborating on a university film project brings them closer together. Just as soon as their feelings for each other deepen, a mysterious stalker threatens to expose their secrets and drive them apart. In the end, they don’t ride off into the sunset together, leaving the door open for more story to be told.

Will there be a You+Me – Against the World sequel movie?

As of the first movie’s September 18 premiere, there’s been no news of Prime Video developing a sequel movie. However, it is based on Emma Green’s bestselling French-language novel of the same name, which is followed by a sequel book called You + Me: One Against the Other, so it’s certainly possible another movie is coming.

What You+Me – Against the World‘s sequel book about?

We can look at the gist of the sequel book for an idea of what the next movie would be about. Currently, Green hasn’t published either the first or second book in English, though we can do a quick translation of the blurb from its original French.

First and foremost, it takes place a whopping 12 years later. It reads: “Alma Lancaster thought she had buried the memory of Vadim Arcadi forever, and with him, the first love that broke her heart. Until the day that voice, above all others, resonates again. But Vadim is no longer the tortured boy she loved. Now at the head of a film empire, he has changed his life, his name, his appearance, and above all, he has become her boss.”

A fire still burns between Alma and Vadim, no matter how much distance they put between them. “Between resentment and vertigo, ambition and regret, Alma and Vadim will have to confront this past they did everything to forget,” the rest of the blurb reads. “Because some stories never die.”

How many You+Me books are there?
