Trinity Rodman’s Family: Her Complicated Relationship With Dad Dennis & More

The tennis tournament has put Trinity, a pro soccer player, back in the spotlight, leading to questions about the current state of her relationship with her dad, former NBA star Dennis Rodman, and more. The two have a complicated history, which Trinity has spoken openly about.

Do Trinity and Dennis Rodman have a relationship?
No, Trinity and Dennis are currently estranged, and she was mostly raised by her mother, Michelle Moyer. During a December 2024 interview on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Trinity spoke at length about their relationship for the first time.
Point-blank, Trinity said, “He’s not a dad. Maybe by blood, but nothing else.” Trinity said that Dennis helped the family during her early childhood, but when he divorced her mom in 2012, things changed. “When the divorce happened, it was like, ‘F**k you guys,'” she claimed. She even recalled having to live in a car with her mom and brother at one point.
“He partied all the time,” Trinity continued. “We tried to live with him, but he’s having parties 24/7. He’s bringing random b**ches in.” She also added, “I roll my eyes because you hear something so many times, but he does nothing to change it. Like, ‘I wish I was a better dad.’ He said that in so many interviews. It’s like, OK. Then do something.”

She also reflected on Dennis’ surprise appearance at one of her soccer matches in 2021, which was heavily covered in the media. “I’m like, ‘Oh my f**king gosh.’ Like, there’s no way this is happening right now. Mind you, I haven’t seen him or talked to him in months,” Trinity revealed. She also recalled Dennis telling her he wanted to see her “soon” after the game, but it took three years until she actually saw him again.
After Trinity publicly came clean about her feelings, Dennis responded in a now-deleted Instagram post. “Sorry I wasn’t the Dad you wanted me to be but either way I still tried and I still Try and Never will Stop,” he wrote. “I will keep Trying even when you’re being told as an adult not to respond to my phone calls. I will try even when it’s difficult and if it takes a long time.”
He continued, “I’m always here And tell you all the time [whether] it’s your voice or voicemail how proud I am. I always had one wish and it was I wish my kids would call me and come see me. Hopefully one day I can get that. I’m here and I’m still trying to pick up the phone. You have my number, You see me calling, I’m still here.”
It’s unclear whether the two have seen each other since the interview was recorded nearly two years ago.
Who is Trinity Rodman’s mom?
Trinity’s mom is Michelle Moyer. Michelle and Dennis met at a bar in 1999. After welcoming their two children, they tied the knot in 2003. During the marriage, Dennis revealed to the Los Angeles Times that he and Michelle didn’t live together. Rather, they resided in homes two miles away from one another. “She and the kids come over on weekends,” he said.
Although Michelle initially filed for divorce in 2004, she and Dennis spent years trying to reconcile before their marriage was officially dissolved in 2012.

Trinity has an extremely close relationship with her mother, telling The Guardian in 2021, “She’s an extremely strong woman. She’s my role model.”
Amid her strained relationship with Dennis, Michelle mostly raised her children on her own. They moved multiple times and even once had to live in a Comfort Inn. “People don’t have a clue, not a clue,” Michelle once revealed. “It was a roller coaster of you have money, you don’t have money.”
Who are Trinity Rodman’s siblings?
Through Dennis and Michelle, Trinity has a brother, Dennis Jr. “DJ” Rodman, who is 13 months older than her. He has followed in his dad’s footsteps as a basketball player.
In college, he played for Washington State and USC. He entered the 2024 NBA Draft but was not selected. He most recently played for the Greensboro Swarm in the G League. DJ is in a relationship with Riley Dixon.
Additionally, Trinity has two half-siblings. Moyer has a daughter, Teyana Lima, from a previous marriage, while Dennis shares a daughter, Alexis, with his first wife, Annie Bakes, whom he married in 1992 and divorced 82 days later.
