Does Alexander Zverev have a child?

Yes, Zverev has a daughter, Mayla, born in 2021. He shares her with his ex-girlfriend Brenda Patea, whom he dated in 2019 and 2020. They split before Mayla’s March 2021 birth.

“Even though Brenda and I are no longer together, we have a good relationship, and I will live up to my responsibility as a father,” he said, per Tennis.com. “Together we will take care of the little person that is about to grow. I am very much looking forward to the child.”

In 2024, the Associated Press reported that Zverev and Patea agreed to share custody of Mayla after settling a lawsuit that Patea had previously filed against the tennis player.

In October 2021, Patea accused Zverev of “physically abusing [her] and damaging [her] health.” She said the alleged incident happened in May 2020, and claimed that Zverev pushed her against a wall and choked her. Zverev denied the allegations and called them “complete bulls**t.”

Per the Associated Press, Zverev and Patea’s settlement also required him to pay 150,000 euros ($162,000) to the state and 50,000 euros ($54,000) to charitable organizations.

Zverev previously denied claims of abuse by ex-girlfriend Olya Sharypova, who alleged that the athlete was physical with her on various occasions, including one where he allegedly punched her in the face. The Association of Tennis Professionals completed a 15-month investigation into the claims, but did not find sufficient evidence to punish Zverev.
