It’s been just over a year since Bachelor in Paradise fans watched Spencer Conley propose to Jess Edwards on the season finale of the show’s 10th season. They were the only couple from the season to get engaged, although three other pairs also left Costa Rica in relationships.

At the end of 2025, just over six months after Season 10 of BiP was filmed, Conley and Edwards moved in together. However, on September 8, they gave a new relationship update. Scroll down for the latest.

Are Spencer Conley and Jess Edwards still together?

No, Conley and Edwards are no longer together. They announced their split in a joint statement, which they posted on their respective Instagram Stories.

“After a lot of honest conversations and reflection, we’ve made the difficult decision to end our engagement and go our separate ways,” they wrote.

This came just weeks after Edwards denied split rumors during an August 18 interview on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast. Fans had been speculating that there was trouble in paradise because the two hadn’t been posting together on social media as much.

“I have a really bad problem at seeing stuff and getting immediately infuriated,” she admitted. “This is probably exactly what [the trolls] want to hear, too, but I will see it and be like, ‘I’m so mad, we need to post together.’ But then I’m like, you know what, it literally does not matter what they think. I know nine times out of 10 it’s because they care and are invested in us.”

Why did Spencer Conley and Jess Edwards split?

In their joint statement, Conley and Edwards explained that there “wasn’t one moment” that led to their breakup.

“The past year and a half gave us so many memories and experiences that we’ll always cherish, and while this isn’t the ending we imagined, we’ll always have so much love and respect for each other and for what we shared,” they added. “We’re moving forward with grateful hearts, genuinely wanting nothing but happiness for one another. Thank you to everyone who believed in us and rooted for our love.”

In February 2026, the duo admitted they hadn’t started wedding planning yet as the one-year anniversary of their May 2025 engagement was approaching.

“At first we were like, ‘OK, when it’s been a year we can revisit and start planning then,'” Edwards revealed. “But our biggest thing is we just want to take time and live life normally. I think that a lot of people forget we had to be hidden and also live separately for a couple months. So we lost out on a lot of time in hiding and then also waiting to actually move in together.”

How did Spencer Conley and Jess Edwards meet?

Conley and Edwards met on Season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise. However, she previously told Swooon that he was someone she was interested in before filming, after watching him on Jenn Tran‘s season of The Bachelorette.

“He actually was my number one,” Edwards admitted. “I was like, ‘Oh my God, I love you Jenn, but I really hope you guys aren’t together because what if we both end up in Paradise one day.'”

Edwards and Conley connected on the beach on Day 1, and when she went on a date with Sam McKinney the next day, he was on her mind the whole time.

“I was really trying to be present on the date, but my mind just kept going back to, ‘Oh my gosh, Spencer’s at home, he’s probably wondering what I’m doing. I can’t wait to see him again,'” Edwards dished. “So I feel like, at the end of the day, if your mind is wondering, then that’s probably where your heart is leaning. It’s like, you want to go, and you want to be open, but you can’t deny what is happening.”

From there, they were in a committed relationship throughout filming, which ultimately led to their engagement.
