‘DWTS: The Next Pro’: Does Allen Genkin Have a Girlfriend?
Allen Genkin is one of four remaining contestants competing for a spot on Dancing With the Stars Season 35 on the very first season of Dancing With the Stars: The Next Pro. He’ll dance in the Semifinals during the August 24 episode.
All season long, fans have grown to love Allen for his dance skills and vulnerability. He has been open about the grief he experienced after his mom’s death when he was a teenager, and he has his eyes on becoming a DWTS pro and winning the Mirrorball trophy.

Does Allen Genkin have a girlfriend?
No, Allen does not appear to currently be in a relationship. His last known romance was with María León, a Mexican singer. They are rumored to have broken up at some point toward the end of 2025.
Before Allen competed on the Dancing With the Stars Ballroom Battle in 2012, he was also “dumped” by his “former dance partner and one-time girlfriend” right before “the biggest competition of his young life,” according to Rodney Curtis, who blogged about meeting Allen on a plane around this time.
What happened between Allen Genkin and María León?
María revealed in November 2025 that long distance was the main factor behind her breakup with Allen. With him living in the United States and her in Mexico, along with both of their busy schedules, a relationship was no longer feasible.
“It’s complicated. Right now, I’m focused on my work. Let’s just say there’s a pause,” she shared. “He is the most wonderful man I have ever met.” At the time, María confirmed that she and Allen were still cordial. “We are friends,” she clarified. “We look out for each other. And we text.”
She also didn’t shut the door on a possible future reconciliation, noting that she hoped they could be in the same place at the same time one day and be together. However, María has since moved on.
Earlier this year, she debuted a new relationship with Arturo Guerrero Zazueta, a lawyer from Mexico.
