Married at First Sight Season 20‘s couples (barring one) haven’t had the smoothest of journeys, including Felipe Cruz and Tori Dahl. They hit their lowest point just a week before Decision Day. During the couples’ retreat, Tori seemingly ended things with Felipe before backtracking a short while later.
In Episode 18, Tori said that going through that hurdle made their relationship stronger, but on Decision Day, she revealed that Felipe had dropped a bombshell on her off-camera. She didn’t get into specifics before the episode ended. Ahead of Decision Day and the reunion, what do we know of Felipe and Tori’s relationship status? Are they still married? Get the rundown below.
What happened between Felipe and Tori on Married at First Sight?
In terms of what happened between their wedding in the premiere up until Decision Day, Tori and Felipe started out smoothly, but at about the midway point, Felipe got worried about the passion eventually running out in their marriage, which caused him to leave relationships in the past. It worried Tori when she heard those fears in a group therapy session.
Even though they both said they were falling for each other, Felipe said he found himself thinking of reasons that he and Tori shouldn’t be married. He liked Tori, but wasn’t sure if marriage was for him. Further, he admitted to missing sleeping around, which made Tori wonder why he would get married. Felipe’s commitment issues, as well as his “immaturity,” continued to be an issue for Tori.
Then, after Felipe played into it when the other couples deemed him a womanizer, it was the tipping point for Tori. Felipe argued that she shouldn’t care what other people think of him, just what she thinks of him. Despite saying she couldn’t do it anymore, she shortly changed her mind and gave him another chance.
Then, Decision Day arrived. “I’m conflicted,” Felipe said as we watched him get ready for the big moment. “I know for a fact that I want to be with Tori right now. With her, I can definitely see someone that I want to build a life with, that I want to grow old with. That’s why I got married at first sight, because I don’t want to be lonely. But I’m not sure if I’m quite the man she deserves.”
As we watched her get ready, too, Tori went on to say that there’s many things she likes about Felipe, including that he’s the life of the party, funny, and has a big heart. “But there are also these weird, confusing times where he’s unsure about commitment, yet we’re married,” she said.
She explained that the “mountain to unpack right now is huge.” She still wasn’t sure if he was ready for marriage, while Felipe said that he wanted to be with her and make sure she understood that. He wanted to convince Tori, who’s everything he wanted in a partner, that his feelings for her are real.
When they met to make their choice, Felipe made a speech about everything he loved about Tori. She said via confessional that she was confused by the move. After moving out, Felipe had a “a conversation [with her] that she didn’t anticipate.”
“It seems cruel and heartless,” she added. “I really like you, but I think it’s important to be honest. What you told me, do you think that’s normal?”
“I regret that heavily,” Felipe replied before the credits rolled.
Are Married at First Sight‘s Felipe and Tori still together?
That cliffhanger won’t be resolved until next week. We won’t know for sure if Felipe and Tori ended up together until the finale and reunion episodes air on August 27.
They haven’t posted any spoilers to their social media, either. Felipe currently follows Tori on Instagram, but she doesn’t follow him back. “Easily the bravest (craziest?) thing I’ve ever done. Come watch me get MARRIED AT FIRST SIGHT… I promise it will be a BANGER,” Felipe wrote in a June 16 Instagram post.
