It’s been a week since the explosive Season 4 reunion of The Ultimatum: Marry or Move On, but this cast’s drama is far from over. On July 29, Ashley Wilson and Hayley Hendrich appeared on Nick Viall‘s The Viall Files podcast, where they gave more insight into the night of Blake Robertson‘s arrest and revealed unseen moments between Ashley and Blake during their trial marriage.

While standing up for Hayley, with whom she has become friends since the season was filmed, Ashley claimed, “The biggest thing I think about Blake is he wants to protect his image no matter what. And that was a big thing in our trial marriage is, like, he would get very defensive and just try to protect his image, and he would go at bat and take anyone down to do so.”

According to Ashley, a rumor started to spiral that she and Blake were having “an affair” following an episode of her ex, Killian Grondin, and costar Jebin John‘s new podcast. “Blake blackmailed me with that right before we were supposed to come here,” she told The Viall Files host. While Ashley made it clear that she was not romantically involved with Blake, she admitted that she shared a kiss with him in an Uber while filming the show. Of course, their kiss happened off-camera, and they “agreed to never speak about it.”

She continued, “A year and a half later, he hears we’re about to come here, and he blackmails me, and he’s like, ‘I’m going to come out with it.'” Ashley revealed that Blake was trying to stir the pot between her and Hayley ahead of their appearance. “He was just saying, ‘I’m going to air it out, I’m tired of y’all being friends.'”

Looking back at the off-camera moment, she explained, “Neither of us felt romantic for each other. We definitely connected… But I don’t think either of us felt like — or I didn’t feel romantically into him, but we were like, ‘What good is this going to do?'”

As Hayley put it, “I had a gut feeling that something happened because I did go through his journal, like I’ve said. And I was really mentally unstable after.” She told Swooon that she felt like he was “fantasizing” about Ashley. “I was having a panic attack on the floor, and he was like, ‘You’re so insecure. This is all in your own head.'” She added, “To me it feels very evil that someone would see somebody in that mental state and just like egg it on.”

According to Hayley, after the reunion filmed, Blake “was trying to get back together” with her. After she repeatedly said no, “He went to Ashley and was trying to convince her to pretend to be in a relationship with him.” Ashley elaborated, “He calls me, and he’s like, ‘Hey, Ashley, what do you think about pretending to be in a relationship after all this so we can get on podcasts?'” Of course, Ashley declined that offer as well.
