Stassi Schroeder is back with a new show! House of Stassi follows the Bravo alum in the next chapter of her life, which includes raising two children with husband Beau Clark, whom she married in 2020.
While Stassi previously starred on eight seasons of Vanderpump Rules, including two with Beau, she admitted to Swooon that she’s still “nervous” about putting her marriage out there for the world to dissect.
“My worst fear is that people will be like, ‘I’m Team Beau,’ or, ‘I’m Team Stassi,’ and put us against each other,” she explained. “That’s not it. You’re watching a real married couple who love each other fight about normal things that married couples go through. We’re not against each other. Please don’t put us against each other. We’re just being honest and vulnerable and opening up to the world. That’s my worst fear.”
Stassi and Beau will document their fair share of troubles on the series, which premieres July 29, but she ultimately feels it helped their relationship. “What I love about doing a show is that it forces you to talk through it and work it out,” she explained. “So, to me, it’s like my therapy. Of course, it causes some issues momentarily because you’re like, ‘This sucks. We’re fighting.’ But then we’re forced to talk about it.”
The couple welcomed daughter Hartford in 2021 and son Messer in 2023. The children will be featured on the show, but Stassi ensured she was an executive producer on the project so she’d have a say in their boundaries.
“I know what reality TV is like,” she admitted. “And I’m not going to just let them be on camera without any control whatsoever. So that was my non-negotiable, and I’m really glad I stuck by it.”
Stassi said that filming is a “day-by-day thing” with the kids. “If they’re liking it, we’ll let them be in scenes,” she added. “We’re not going to schedule their scenes for them. If they happen to be around and they want to come in, then they can. And they loved it. They loved when production was there. They asked to get microphones put on.”
Right now, Stassi doesn’t think Hartford and Messer fully grasp what her role on TV means. “Hartford will ask me often when people come up to me when we’re out, she’s like, ‘Did they see you on the TV show?'” she shared. “She kind of gets that. And someone’s come up before, which was creepy.”
