‘Ride or Die’ Star Calam Lynch Teases Potential Season 2 Romance for Sam & Queenie
What To Know
- Ride or Die star Calam Lynch teases hope for a potential Sam and Queenie romance if the show returns for Season 2.
- Plus, he opens up about his chemistry with costar Savannah Steyn.
Ride or Die may have just landed on Prime Video, but we’re already obsessed with the possibility of Sam (Calam Lynch) and Queenie’s (Savannah Steyn) partnership becoming something more in a potential second season.
Although the show hasn’t officially been renewed for Season 2, there are plenty of loose threads to pick up if the next chapter gets a green light, one of which would be the team-up between the newest agency hire, Queenie, and her handler, Sam. Warning: Spoilers for Ride or Die Season 1 ahead!
A weapons specialist, Queenie is seemingly the biological daughter of the Director (Bill Nighy), and while Sam, who is friends with Queenie outside of work, was ready to make his grand exit from the agency after deactivating assassin Judith (Hannah Waddingham) in the system, things shifted.
When the Director revealed that Sam would be serving as Queenie’s new handler, it hinted at a dangerous game as Queenie is operating under the guise of working with Interpol. Needless to say, things are complicated, but if Season 2 were to come about, Sam and Queenie would be working closely together. Could that possibly lead to something more?

We caught up with Lynch on the red carpet at Ride or Die‘s premiere in New York City. “I think the thing with Sam is maybe he’s realized over the course of the show that he doesn’t have many people in his life who he can really trust and who he can love, and he’s a lover. Sam’s a lover boy,” Lynch said. “He can’t leave Queenie on her own now. They need each other.”
And the actor is equally as interested in pursuing the storyline further as he added, “I’m so interested to see what happens between them because it was so much fun working with Sav. I love her so much, and I feel like we have good chemistry.”
Despite Lynch’s desire to explore the storyline further, he wanted to make it clear, “[Queenie would] be fine with or without Sam, but she’d be happier with Sam.”
