14 Hottest Animated Animals, Ranked: Robin Hood, Moto Moto & More
In 2010, executives at Walt Disney Studios gathered a focus group of women from their animation teams for what has since been dubbed the “Hot Man Meeting.” In the Mouse’s hallowed halls, these ladies determined the perfect recipe for an attractive fellow, and Tangled‘s Flynn Rider was born. But here at Swooon, we’re convinced that animators already had the secret sauce when it came to creating 2- to 3-dimensional hotties. After all, did they need a focus group to create everyone’s not-so-secret childhood crush, fox-form Robin Hood? We don’t think so.
Of course, Robin Hood wasn’t the only non-human animated character who had everyone saying, “Oo‐De‐Lally.” There is no exact science to what makes animated animals downright hotties. (To be clear, it’s not the fur, scales, or anything of the sort.) Still, seeing a cartoon that focuses solely on animals and still finding someone to crush on is a universal experience.

14. Diane from Hoppers
If you haven’t met Diane yet, you’re missing out. A lethal weapon and a classy lady all at once, Diane squishes her enemies with kindness, so I’d love to see how she treats her loved ones. 13. Moto Moto from Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa
Moto Moto is the Madagascar franchise’s token sex symbol (sorry, King Julian), and we can see why. As viewers know, he likes ’em big and he likes ’em chunky. Good thing the people like someone who knows what they want. However, for the movie’s token stud, who goes as far as to show off his bum on-screen, I’m certain there is a more sexy-potamus out there. 12. Nick Wilde from Zootopia
Everyone loves a rule breaker, and they don’t get much foxier than Nick Wilde, who brings his know-how charms to the streets of Zootopia, making it hard not to fall for his wiles. Nick’s Hawaiian shirt and tie combo with khakis exudes a relaxed cool guy vibe, but he proves to be dapper when he goes all out in a tux. A glint in his eye and confidence up his sleeve make for one alluring character. — Meaghan Darwish

What the citizens of Far, Far Away didn’t understand before Shrek saves Fiona from that tower is… Dragon is that girl. And she knows it. She’s flirtatious and confident and knows what she wants, which just happens to be a donkey. But hey, love conquers all. — Kelli Boyle

Voiced by Bette Midler, this pampered pooch has a bedroom, vanity, and wardrobe to rival those of Hollywood’s biggest divas. Georgette is a fabulous beauty queen (award-winning show poodle) who demands fabulousness around her, and her big opening number shows her lounging in front of a huge collection of pictures of her many handsome beaus and sorting through her closet full of New York’s latest trends. 9. Gill from Finding Nemo
I’ve never been able to resist a brooding and grumpy character, even if they’re a Moorish Idol who lives in a fish tank. Those scars? Hot. His leadership skills? Hotter. 8. Bugs Bunny from Looney Tunes
While I agree with the No. 1 choice on this list, I have argued from the beginning of the list’s inception that Bugs Bunny should be No. 1 for one reason: his unfettered rizz. No animated character, be it animal, human, or other, has more natural charisma than Bugs Bunny, and it’s literally every single Looney Tune’s problem except his girlfriend, Lola’s. 7. Verne from Over the Hedge
Here’s my qualm: People rarely discuss the 2006 masterpiece that is Over the Hedge. While many animated animals nearly steal the show in this food-heist film, one reptile takes the cake: Verne the Turtle. Sure, the non-believers see a goofy, bald turtle, but I see his potential. Verne captures the warm, hug-like energy of Peeta Mellark (Josh Hutcherson) crossed with the dorky, yet endearing humor of Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell). Is he sexy? No. But, is he hot? To tween me, Kovu was the first bad boy I couldn’t stop thinking about. I love a misunderstood man (or lion). Those green eyes? I’m a simple woman. And the entire Kovu-Kiara forbidden love romance made my heart pitter-patter like nothing else. Oh, and Kovu is the Bucky Barnes of The Lion King universe. Enough said. — Avery Thompson

Lola Bunny is unequivocally the most stunning Looney Tune, without even trying. This diva has an effortless athleisure style with an all-natural smile that could make even the most realistic of Hollywood veneers cry. Look, there’s just something about cartoon foxes. The character of Robin Hood automatically gets hot points. But Disney decided to take things to a whole new level in 1973 with its animated twist on the legendary tale. Once you see Robin Hood lean against a tree with that sly smile, it’s game over. I’ll get lost in the Sherwood Forest any day if he’s roaming around. — Avery Thompson
3. Spirit from Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron
The 2002 movie Spirit: The Stallion of the Cimarron changed lives. Mainly mine. I didn’t identify as a “horse girl” growing up, but Spirit nearly made me one. Spirit is more attractive than most humans. Just look at him. The natural contour of his face? Swoon. He has absolutely no business being this hot. And his hair. HIS HAIR. That mane was a gift from the horse gods. (I still think those soldiers deserve life in prison for cutting Spirit’s hair.)

2. Lola from Shark Tale
The characters in Shark Tale were designed to look like the actors playing their voices, and this one was modeled after Angelina Jolie. This is a self-explanatory inclusion for that reason alone. But if I had to explain more, just look at Lola’s maroon, sparkling fins meant to be her hair and a slinky dress, paired with a smoky eye and a red lip. She’s diva-maxxing. — Kelli Boyle
1. Diego from Ice Age
It’s a sad day when you have to harken all the way back to the Pleistocene epoch to find the hottest animated animal, but truly, no one else has come close to Ice Age‘s Diego the Saber Tooth Tiger. Basically, this guy is a yassified Lion King character whose looks are drastically heightened when he stands next to Sid the Sloth and Manny the Woolly Mammoth. We’d have to go way back in time to make this relationship work, but we’ll always be the fan of an (ice) age-gap romance. — Rebecca Perlmutter
