‘North of North’ Star Anna Lambe Breaks Down Kuuk’s Romantic Gesture for Siaja

North of North may have ended its second season with a blizzard, but despite the frosty environment, things were just heating up between Siaja (Anna Lambe) and her crush, Kuuk (Braeden Clarke), after he heroically rescued stranded singer Elisapie in the storm to pull off Siaja’s Winter Ball vision.
“I mean, it’s the sweetest thing in the world because Kuuk’s not just going to go and do something for Siaja; he’s putting his life on the line, going out in a blizzard on a skidoo to go and pick up Elisapie to bring her to the ball to make that happen because that is what Siaja wanted,” Lambe tells Swooon.
“That was what she dreamed of,” the actress adds. Thankfully, the community of Ice Cove came together when there was a generator issue, and Kuuk’s secret mission to pick up Elisapie when she got stranded a few towns over in the frozen landscape was the cherry on top of the epic event that proves to Siaja, her friends, and her family that she’s capable of achieving great things.

“That was such an important part of the Winter Ball for her and for Kuuk to see her in that way and to recognize how important that is to her and to go, this will be worth it, not just because I want Siaja to like me, but also because I want Siaja to succeed and I want her to accomplish what she wanted… I think that’s what makes it so sweet is that there are layers to it.”
In other words, Kuuk isn’t acting out of what he can get from Siaja from his actions, but rather through his desire to see her succeed. Swooon!
“He cares about her, not just what a relationship with her could do for him, but because he really wants her to be happy with or without him. So I think that grand gesture, that act of care, is so moving because it really is just about wanting Siaja to succeed.”
The gesture was so moving that the pair capped off Season 2 with a sweet kiss under the Winter Ball lights, with plenty of promise for the future now that they’re both single and Kuuk has put down more solid roots as a teacher in the community. Whether they’ll be back for Season 3 remains to be seen, but we’d certainly tune in for more of this adorable pair.
