‘Survivor 51’: Who Is Cristian Chavez’s Wife? Meet Marcie Johnson
Cristian Chavez has mostly been playing under the radar on Season 51 of Survivor. Two episodes ago, he and two other original Savu tribe members, Eric Macksoud and Sharonda Cox, refused to risk their games and draw rocks on a tie vote, ultimately resulting in their ally, Linnea Capobianco, being sent home.
Now, Cristian is one of 13 players left in the game, and the merge is coming on the November 4 episode. Less players will likely give us the opportunity to learn more about Cristian in the upcoming episodes (if he’s not voted out, that is!)
What we do know from some internet sleuthing, though, is that Cristian is married to his wife, Marcie Johnson Chavez, who uses she/they pronouns, according to her Instagram bio. Scroll down to learn more.
What does Cristian Chavez’s wife do for a living?
Marcie is a certified social worker at Green Willow Counseling in Cottonwood, Utah. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from Utah State University, and in 2026, she earned her Master of Social Work at the University of Utah.
Per Green Willow’s website, Marcie works with “adolescents (11+) and adults, supporting individuals experiencing anxiety, depression suicidal ideation, eating disorders, self-harm, family conflict, and trauma.”

She is able to communicate in American Sign Language (ASL) and prioritizes “working with diverse populations,” striving to “provide a safe, affirming, and inclusive space for LGBTQIA+ individuals exploring their identities.”
When did Cristian Chavez and his wife get married?
Cristian and Marcie got married on November 1, 2024, per their online wedding registry. The big day came just under a year after they got engaged in November 2023.
“Better than Pretzel Day … barely… :),” Cristian captioned an Instagram photo dump from the day he proposed.
It’s unclear when the two started dating, but Johnson appeared in an Instagram post shared by Cristian in June 2022. Both Cristian and Marcie attended Utah State University, so it’s possible they met as students there.
Does Cristian Chavez have kids?
Yes, Cristian and Marcie are parents to one child, born in 2025. Cristian shared their pregnancy news in an Instagram post in March of that year, writing, “1 lil Niño quesadilla please! Oh and whatever the little one wants :).”
In Marcie’s work bio, she notes that she and Cristian have one human child, a son, and two cats.
