Could we get an on-screen soap reunion between Alexa Havins and Justin Bruening in the near future? Havins currently plays Lulu Spencer on General Hospital, and her husband’s recent post from the ABC set has fans wondering whether Bruening might join the show.
“There’s always talk about him: ‘Is he going to come [on the show]?’ That would be amazing since we started [on a soap]. Why not? He would definitely come in and play,” Havins told Swooon at the 2026 Daytime Emmys.
Havins attended the October 30 ceremony solo, but she admitted Bruening dropped her off. “Right now, he’s watching all my children. That’s my pun,” she said with a smirk.
Havins and Bruening first met on the set of All My Children when they were playing Babe Carey and Jamie Martin. They fell in love, and Bruening even proposed on set. The couple‘s been married since 2005, and they now have four children. Bruening recently shared sweet photos with Havins from the GH set. The caption on one was directed to his wife, “You’re cute…..What are you doing the rest of your life? I’m thinking……… 4 kids? House in the burbs? 1,001 pets?”

If Bruening did return to the world of soaps, specifically General Hospital, it would be a double reunion. Michael E. Knight, who portrays Martin Grey on GH, played Bruening’s dad, Tad Martin, on All My Children.
Back in 2025, Swooon asked Bruening if he’d be open to appearing on General Hospital alongside his wife. He said he would “never say never,” and added, “It’d be fun. I love working with my wife, so it’d be fun to pop on. We had a joke that I want to start showing up in just the background as just a random barista.”
At the time, Bruening was busy working on Netflix’s Sweet Magnolias. But now that the show has ended, he has a window of time to pop up in Port Charles. Let’s make it happen!
