On October 25, less than a month after Rick Devens won Big Brother Season 28, he and his wife, Becca, shared an unexpected health update on social media. After Devens returned home, Becca was diagnosed with cancer.
In a video, Becca shared, “We just wanted to let you know some important news, because it would be — I feel like it’d be weird if we didn’t tell you before I like had to go have surgery.” She continued, “So, Rick won Big Brother and then we came home, and I got diagnosed with breast cancer.”
Throughout the Survivor 50 star’s time on Big Brother, fans got to know Becca and their kids, Jack and Juju, through their takeover of his social media. Now, they’re asking fans to send “good vibes and prayers” their way.
She shared, “We caught it early because I do my mammograms like a good girl, and I’m gonna get a double mastectomy, and that’ll be fun.” Since they caught the cancer early, she explained, “We think that’s all we have to do, which is great. And we’ll keep people posted.” On October 27, she’s scheduled for an MRI to confirm the diagnosis.
As their dog, Gary, came on the screen, Devens assured their followers, “Gary’s handling it well. He’s our support. So are the children.” Becca added, “Kids are doing good. Everybody’s okay, but we just want to let you know.”

Yash Patel from the most recent season of Big Brother shared, “Sending you good energy and lots of love. if there’s one thing bout that Devens family.. it’s that they know how to fight and get sh*t done.” Rizo Velovic from Survivor 50 shared support from him and his longtime girlfriend, writing, “Positive vibes Becca!! LizGod and I sending you tons of love.”
Following all the support from his fellow CBS stars, Devens commented, “Thank you all for the love! Becca’s got this. Luckily she’s the tough one. Also, the funny, charming, smart, good looking one.”
