From Beast Games to Big Brother, Drew Campbell has been all over the reality TV scene. Now, his past relationship is coming into play (well, almost) on Netflix’s Wonka’s The Golden Ticket.
No, your eyes aren’t deceiving you. While Drew is cooped up in the Big Brother house with only three people left between him and the prize, he appears on the September 23 premiere of Wonka’s The Golden Ticket, where he and his ex-girlfriend, Vanessa, open a Wonka bar to find that they did not receive a golden ticket. Turns out, this wasn’t an acting gig; they really did make it to the Top 50 of the audition process.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, showrunner Alison Holloway revealed why Drew and Vanessa appeared on the show even though they didn’t make it onto the main cast. She explained, “We told our finalists they wouldn’t know if they were on the show until they opened their Wonka Bar and pulled out a Golden Ticket. We wanted that moment to be completely pure and real.” For Drew and Vanessa, that moment featured candid disappointment.

According to Holloway, Drew and Vanessa beat out thousands for a chance at the Golden Ticket. She revealed, “His application to be on the show was hilarious. He said, ‘I am busting through those doors and doing the nastiest cannonball you have ever seen into that chocolate river.'”
It’s currently unclear when the Wonka’s The Golden Ticket intro was filmed. However, Big Brother fans know that Drew and Vanessa broke up before he arrived at the Big Brother house, which she confirmed to Reality Rogue.
Throughout his time in the house, we’ve watched Drew seemingly catch feelings for his closest ally, Melody Morris, who he’s kept things friendly with since she confessed to having a situationship back home. Still, their “flirtmance” has kept the rumors flying all season.
