‘RHONY’: Get to Know Sai De Silva’s Estranged Husband David Craig
Six months ago, news broke that Sai De Silva’s husband David Craig had filed for divorce. Now, their relationship troubles and the divorce filing are playing out on Season 16 of The Real Housewives of New York City.
De Silva and Craig were married for nine years at the time of their split and the divorce has not been finalized yet. “We’re still going through a divorce,” she admitted on an episode of Watch What Happens Live in September.
Craig is notoriously private. He does not have social media, and his face is often kept out of De Silva’s posts. However, he has popped up on RHONY here and there. Swooon rounded up everything to know about David Craig. Scroll down for more.
What does Sai De Silva’s husband do for a living?
Craig, who used to own a bar, eventually became the manager of his and De Silva’s household. De Silva is a content creator with a major digital empire, and Craig holds things down at home while she keeps up with her busy career.
“He’s my perfect guy who loves his privacy, and I respect that,” De Silva once wrote on her blog. “He’s supportive, encouraging, and always by our side. I admit, he’s a terrible Instagram husband, but other than that, we’re thick as thieves.”
She also made sure to note that Craig is “very involved when it comes to his family, and I think he should win an award for father of the year!”
On Season 16 of RHONY, De Silva revealed that Craig “finally got a job,” but did not specify what it was. She also noted that it was “just not enough” to help support the family.
How did Sai De Silva meet her husband?
De Silva met Craig during a trip to Costa Rica in 2009. She was on a 10-day trip with her girlfriends, but it wasn’t until the last night that she met her future husband.
“I met him at a swim-up bar of a private resort that I randomly found during our stay,” De Silva previously shared in a blog post. “He was on a work trip, and I had the world’s worst attitude. I can’t lie, I was a little hungover from the night before and suffered from a lack of personality due to my self-inflicting sickness. My head was killing me, and I was in no mood to make small talk with a guy I didn’t know.”
After a few minutes of conversation, Craig “insulted” De Silva, which made her laugh and caught her attention. “I admired the fact that he was funny since I love to laugh,” she explained. “The more we chatted, the more I realized that we had a lot in common.”
Since Craig was from Canada and De Silva lived in New York City, the relationship was long-distance at first. De Silva was admittedly hesitant about jumping into the relationship because Craig was so sweet, which was “different” from the men she’d previously dated. “I put my self-sabotaging ways to the side and gave him a chance because I deserved to be courted and adored as we all do,” she added.
Do Sai De Silva and her husband have kids?
Yes, De Silva and Craig are parents to two children. They welcomed both of their kids before their 2017 wedding.
The pair’s first child, daughter London, was born on September 6, 2011, when they were still in a long-distance relationship. However, De Silva explained on her blog that they “made it work.” Their son, Rio, was born in April 2017.
During her 2026 WWHL appearance, De Silva gave an update on co-parenting, admitting that it was “not great” at the moment.
Is Sai De Silva still with her husband?
No, De Silva and Craig are currently separated after he filed for divorce. She said on WWHL that there was “definitely no going back” for them after he filed for divorce without letting her know first.
While De Silva and Craig had been separated for some time, he blindsided her with the divorce filing by not warning her that it was coming.
On RHONY, De Silva opened up about the moment she knew her marriage was over. She recalled her 45th birthday dinner in November 2025 when Craig took her out to dinner. However, when De Silva later looked at her credit card bills, she realized the meal was on her card.
“I said, ‘David! You made me pay for my own dinner? My own birthday dinner?'” she revealed. “And that’s when I knew… What’s left?” She also admitted that there was no intimacy in their relationship anymore, and claimed that Craig only stayed with her because he liked the “illusion” of being her husband and enjoyed the “lifestyle” she provided.
