The Remarried Empress is set to deliver a love square for the ages. Based on a mega-popular fantasy web novel of the same name, The Remarried Empress takes place in a magical kingdom, and follows its titular character when she’s cheated on by her Emperor husband.
The aforementioned love square kicks off when Emperor Sovieshu crosses paths with an escaped slave, Rashta, and becomes infatuated with her. Navier allows him to marry Rashta on the condition that she can pursue his rival, Prince Heinrey.

Shin Min-a as Empress Navier
Shin Min-a may very well be considered Korean entertainment royalty, so playing an empress is fitting. The 42-year-old South Korean actress began modeling in the 1990s before landing her first role in 2001’s Beautiful Days. She’s appeared in a number comedies and dramas like My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho and Netflix hit Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha. She married to fellow actor Kim Woo-bin in 2025 after years of dating.
Ju Jihoon as Emperor Sovieshu
Seoul-born 44-year-old actor Ju Jihoon also has quite the resume. He broke out with a leading role in the 2006 TV series Princess Hours, though he started landing modeling campaigns with brands like Calvin Klein a few years earlier. Since then, he’s often played royalty, such as in the comedy film I Am the Kings. You might also recognize him from Light Shop and The Trauma Code: Heroes on Call. This is Ju’s second project with Shin after the rom-com The Naked Kitchen.
Lee Jongsuk as Crown Prince Heinrey
Before he was wooing the empress as Crown Prince Heinrey, Lee Jongsuk started his career in the early 2000s as a model. The 37-year-old had a brief stint as an idol group member before pivoting to acting, studying Professional Motion Pictures and Art at university and graduating in 2016. He had already made his acting debut years prior, in 2010’s Prosecutor Princess, and he went on to star in a number of romance projects, like 2019’s Romance Is a Bonus Book and 2017’s While You Were Sleeping.
Lee Seyoung as Rashta
Lee Seyoung, who is playing escaped slave Rashta, started her career as a child actress. The 33-year-old South Korean actress broke out via the 2003 historical drama Jewel in the Palace, and she has steadily landed roles since, including 2016 drama The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop and 2017’s Hit the Top. She also starred in historical drama The Crowned Clown before her fame skyrocketed with 2022’s The Red Sleeve, yet another historical romantic drama. She knows her way around this genre, that’s for sure.
