- She also opened up about how a recent event made her start thinking about the future even more.
Gia Giudice and boyfriend Christian Carmichael are currently preparing to move in together after six years of dating. Of course, taking this next step in the relationship has people wondering what the rest of their future plans look like, too.
“People bug me [already], and I’m like, ‘We’re not even moved in with each other yet. Give me a break. Give me a second,'” Giudice tells Swooon. “But honestly, I don’t know. I don’t want to put a timeline on it. I also don’t want him to feel pressured in any way. Obviously, it’s coming.”
Giudice points out that some of her and Carmichael’s friends have started to get engaged, which has her thinking about her own proposal. “Our best friends just got engaged last weekend, and it was really exciting,” she admits. “And these are our friends that we do all the couple stuff with, and we’re with them all the time. And it’s so funny because she’s my best friend from growing up, and he’s his best friend from when they grew up. So it was just so beautiful to see them make that official, and we were very involved in the setup and the surprise and everything. So that definitely gave us some, ‘Aw, that will be us soon.'”
While the ball is in Carmichael’s court to propose, Giudice “definitely think[s] it’s happening soon.” However, for now, they’re focused on making her apartment a home for both of them. “I would say maybe within the next year or so,” she confirms. “We’ll probably get settled and really enjoy living together, and then I’m sure the engagement will come within due time of us moving in with each other.”

In her professional life, Giudice also has a lot to look forward to. It was recently confirmed that her show Next Gen NYC has been picked up for another season on Bravo, and she recently opened a restaurant, Il Vero, in New Jersey.
“I am definitely looking forward to just expanding with Il Vero and just growing more and more every single day,” she says. “The restaurant business is a crazy business, but it’s something that I am so happy to be a part of. I really enjoy the hospitality business, and seeing the restaurant come to life is so rewarding. And I’m really just honing in on [podcast] Casual Chaos. It’s become such a passion of mine.”
