Riley Green has been busier than ever this year. In addition to releasing a new album, touring, and making his acting debut on Marshals, the country singer is also a coach on The Voice, and his schedule has left little time for dating.
“I struggle to think there’s a girl that’s … I can barely make this lifestyle work,” he admitted to People. “I think that’s probably a battle for anybody that’s in a demanding position, just a career where you’re on the road 200-plus days a year. I was busy before I started filming The Voice. Now I’m in L.A. every day.”
Green confirmed that he does hope to settle down one day, though. “Yeah, I mean, if I like my son near as much as I like my nephew Joe, I think we’ll get along great,” he said. “But I haven’t seen Carl, my dog, in a month. … So my lifestyle has got to change a little bit.”

While Green doesn’t necessarily have all the “things that [he’s] hoping for” right now, he “gets by” thanks to his close relationship with his family. “I get to FaceTime my nephew and see what he’s doing and watch him play sports and catch up with my family,” he continued. “We’re all still really close. They make it bearable in a pretty hectic lifestyle right now.”
Green has two sisters who taught him that he’s “not right about everything,” which is something he takes into his romantic relationships. “There are some things not worth arguing about,” he added. “I didn’t win a lot of arguments [growing up].”
When he does date, Green said he likes taking women to the movies. “If I could find a drive-in, wouldn’t that be cool? I’m sure they still have them,” he said. “Maybe a steak somewhere and a drive-in to watch an old movie.”
