John C. Reilly’s Sons: All About Arlo & Leo, a.k.a. Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Mr. Right Now’
Olivia Rodrigo‘s game show-themed “expectations” music video has put actor John C. Reilly’s son, Leo, back in the spotlight in 2026, though he’s really been in it for some time now. Well before he played Rodrigo’s “Mr. Right Now,” Leo went viral when a journalist shared side-by-side photos of him and his dad, sparking headlines like The Cut’s “Did You Know About John C. Reilly’s Hot Son?” back in 2020.
It turned the public’s attention to Leo’s music career (he releases songs under the stage name “LoveLeo”), as well as his more private younger brother, Arlo. John and his film producer wife, Alison Dickey, married in 1992 and started growing their family in 1998. In recent years, their sons have become successful in their own right. Get to know the Reilly children below.
Who are John C. Reilly’s sons?
Leo Reilly
By early 2020, Leo had almost hit a million followers on TikTok, per a feature by The Cut. He started making music as a teenager four or five years earlier. By the age of 21, Leo had experience in fashion, music, and social media content creation, according to Paper. His debut single, “BOYFREN,” took off in 2020, and he’s released a handful of singles and EPs, with his latest coming in 2024.
Before dropping out to focus on music — he landed a major-label record deal shortly after “BOYFREN” — he went to college for fashion design. He became interested in that at first due to his love for basketball and basketball shoes. “And towards the end of high school, I started to realize that a lot of the stuff that I wanted to wear, I wasn’t finding in stores, so I would start thrifting a lot. I’ve known how to sew and knit since a young age, so I revisited that skill and started customizing clothes. I really fell in love with making clothes and fashion design and every step of that process, so I ended up going to school at FIDM,” he told Paper.
He added, “I was building a pretty substantial following on social media, and so I knew that whatever I wanted to do, I had at least a little bit of a platform to jump-start and give it a really good chance of succeeding. I don’t think my parents really understood that quite as much.”

In 2022, Leo and his dad did a joint interview with GQ. “I want to point out that Leo did the entire thing on his own,” John said. “Nobody knew that he was my son. The record label didn’t know. The people who signed him didn’t know.”
Leo also spoke to Paper about wanting to be viewed as his “own person” doing his “own thing.” He explained, “Most of what I’m doing isn’t even in the same world as my dad’s. If I was acting then that would make sense, and I could see people latching onto the comparison more.”
He acknowledged the connection was a way for fans to discover him. “Like, it wouldn’t really make sense for me to get mad about that because it’s a thing that people are excited about,” Leo said. “So if they discover it and they’re excited about it, let them be excited. But it still is never something that I will lead with because I feel like people sometimes assume things about me and about the way I was raised based on how they look at other children of celebrities.”
Arlo Reilly
Arlo, who is a few years younger than his brother, keeps a lower profile than Leo. He’s signed to Click Model Management, and he’s also dabbled in designing clothes, per his Instagram. He made an artistic project called “Touching” back in 2023.

“The end goal of this project was to shoot my friends and amazing people around me in clothes that I made,” he wrote. “Each piece explores the idea of touch, whether it be positive or negative, welcome or unwelcome. Although it was tedious, it was important to me to hand-stitch each piece. This is the first iteration, but I’d like to keep it going and get more lovely people in the clothes.”
