Shep Rose will reunite with ex Taylor Ann Green on Season 12 of Southern Charm, following her breakup from Gaston Rojas earlier this year. The reunion happened after Taylor unexpectedly reached out to Shep four years after their spit.

“It was a year and a half since we [last] spoke, and I got a message from her, and I didn’t believe it was her,” Shep, who’s partnered with State Farm ahead of Bravo Fan Fest 2026, told Swooon. “It was a new number. And I was like, no, it’s not. Damn you for playing around with me. That’s not very nice.’ And then I asked her a couple questions that only she would know about my family. And she knew it.”

Shep admitted to being “emotionally confused” by Taylor reaching out, but said he “fully acknowledged that we both needed to process things” before taking any further steps. “To jump back into a romantic relationship, I’m not so sure would have been the best path,” he explained. “I’ll leave it at that.”

While we’ll have to wait and see exactly what transpires between the two, Shep teased that it was “very emotional seeing her and laughing with her because it had been a long time, and I didn’t know if it would ever happen again.” As he’s said before, he’s “very pleased” to have Taylor back in his life, regardless of what their relationship status is.

“For me, it’s just full support mode for her because she had a rough time of it,” Shep added. “Part of it was because of me, part of it’s because of being on TV, part of it was because of her losing her brother. I mean, we’re talking a lot of things. And it would throw anybody for a loop. So I’m glad to have her back, and I think a lot of us are. It’s been nice.”

Shep wasn’t privy to Taylor’s breakup before she reached out because he’s “not in the gossip mill of downtown Charleston,” he confirmed. “I was, I mean, frankly, very relieved that it had happened because of many things. Look, if you’re in a relationship and you feel like it’s us against the world, and I feel like that was the case for a bit of that relationship, sometimes the world is right. Maybe listen to people that you trust around you.”

On October 24, Shep will be attending Bravo Fan Fest at the North Charleston Performing Arts Center. He, Craig Conover, and Molly O’Connell will be stopping by State Farm’s immersive activation, where fans can visit a Shem Creek-inspired pier, discover their own Southern Charm persona through an interactive video experience, and personalize a boat tote with a scarf of their choice.

“It’s going to be very interactive,” Shep teased. “Charleston is such a lovely place. Everyone’s so nice and welcoming and it’s southern. And I think our show sort of, I hope, changed some stereotypical views of the South and peels back the curtain on another side of it. And now we really get to do it in real time. So this pleases me.”
