Forget summer, Halloween might just be the hottest time of the year. And we’re not just talking about the costumes, although they’re certainly a great excuse to dress up and show off. There’s the aphrodisiac that is chocolate, the excuse to cuddle up during scary movies, and that rush of adrenaline that adds a little extra thrill to the night.
But let’s be honest: Horror villains are just hotter than the good guys. They always have been. There’s something undeniably magnetic about someone who knows what they want, defies all odds, and refuses to give up on their cause. Sure, that cause is usually something deeply disturbing, and their red flags could fill an entire crime scene.
But if we can make excuses for our terrible exes, surely we can cut a little slack for the hottest horror villains. After all, it’s only fiction… right? Scroll down for our ranking of the 11 hottest horror villains.

11. Hannibal Lecter
You know those people who aren’t conventionally hot, but their confidence and charisma somehow make them irresistible? Yeah, Hannibal Lecter (Anthony Hopkins) definitely falls into that category. He’s terrifying and hardly an immediate swipe right, but the man could get inside our heads without even trying. However, his particular proclivities make him a risk we might not be willing to take.

10. Jack Torrance
A Stephen King character had to make this list. We truly didn’t have a choice. Enter Jack Torrance (Jack Nicholson) from The Shining. He’s an alcoholic, abusive, and spends most of the movie possessed by the hotel he’s supposed to be caretaking. But that iconic “Here’s Johnny!” moment? It lives rent-free in our heads. Maybe it’s the wild eyes, maybe it’s the unhinged energy, but there’s something about Jack that makes it hard to look away. Terrifying? Absolutely. Weirdly captivating? We can’t deny it.

9. Candyman
We’re keeping things old school with Candyman (Tony Todd) himself. Who can resist a tragic, brooding antagonist? He’s got the backstory, the emotional depth, and that haunting presence that’s hard to forget. Whisper our name five times, baby. We might need a minute to get used to the whole hook situation, but hey, we’re willing to work through it.

8. Beetlejuice
We’re not sure Beetlejuice quite counts as a horror film, but we’ll take any excuse to show some love to our smooth-talking, stripe-wearing man, played to perfection by Michael Keaton. He’s alternative, rocking the green hair and face paint, and he’s certainly not afraid to stand out. Bold, chatty, and bursting with chaotic energy, he’s got a certain charm that’s hard to ignore. We can’t quite explain it, but we could see it!

7. Michael Myers
It’s a Halloween classic, so credit where credit is due: Michael Myers deserves a spot on this list. He’s appeared in nearly every Halloween film, and honestly, that kind of commitment is what we’re looking for in a partner. Sure, he’s done some truly terrible things, including murdering his own sister as a child, so there are a few red flags to unpack. But he’s also famously quiet and ridiculously resilient. You simply can’t keep this man down, and we have to respect the sheer staying power.

6. Jason Voorhees
A popular Halloween costume thanks to its simplicity — just a mask and a machete — but honestly, we’re not mad about it! Look, we’d rather go home with Jason Voorhees than some dude in a boring T-shirt and fake blood. There’s an undeniable mystery to Jason, and the mask certainly adds to the intrigue. He’s a little grunge, a little off the beaten path, and somehow, we’re getting golden retriever boyfriend energy. Don’t ask us to explain it. We just have a feeling he’d be surprisingly loyal. Who knows?

5. Count Orlok
Look, we cannot tell a lie: Count Orlok in Nosferatu is hot. He’s played by Bill Skarsgård, so really, what chance did we have? Sure, the lack of hair, the long, creepy fingers, and casually killing Ellen’s husband, Thomas, aren’t exactly ideal. But he owns property, he’s devoted to his woman, and he’s not letting a few decaying limbs get in the way of romance. Does he fight for his love interest a little too violently? Absolutely. Whatever happened to flowers and a handwritten poem? Still, with the housing crisis the way it is, we’re ready to move in after the first date. Fangs, questionable hygiene, and all.

4. Billy Loomis
If loving Billy Loomis (Skeet Ulrich) is wrong, we don’t want to be right. As the original Ghostface killer and main antagonist of Scream (1996), Billy is a walking red flag wrapped in a very attractive package. The best part of his lore? How ridiculously meta it all is. He’s a horror movie fanatic, and apparently, that’s all the inspiration he needs to go on a killing spree. Rogue behaviour! Quoting Norman Bates? Hot! And don’t even get us started on those James Dean vibes and utterly criminal, slutty curls. Look, we know he’s a bad man, and there’s no defending the body count, but if there’s one thing Billy does well, it’s being dangerously charismatic. We fear we’re part of the problem.

3. The Creature
It’s been over a year, and we’re still no less obsessed with The Creature (Jacob Elordi) from Frankenstein (2025). But can we really call him a villain? The Creature, aka Frankenstein’s monster, is arguably just a product of his creator’s making. Is he truly evil, or is he simply trying to avenge everything he’s lost? As you can probably tell, we have a soft spot for troubled men we’re convinced we can fix. He’s scarred, brooding, and carrying enough emotional baggage to fill a whole other lab. And yet, we can’t help but think there’s more to him than meets the eye. Call us delusional, but we’d let this Creature sweep us off our feet… and then some.

2. Pam Voorhees
A prequel series to the Friday the 13th franchise? Linda Cardellini playing Pam Voorhees, aka Jason’s mom? Oh, we’re so in. In Crystal Lake, Pamela has a dark past long before the tragic events that lead to her son’s drowning in the first episode, and we’re equal parts terrified of her and ridiculously attracted to her. Only Linda Cardellini could make a blood-splattered face look like a full beat. Honestly, MILF doesn’t even begin to cover it, folks.
Lionsgate / Everett Collection
1. Patrick Bateman
Big shock! Patrick Bateman (Christian Bale) takes the top spot. We never promised to be original, just brutally honest. American Psycho’s Patrick Bateman is the hottest horror movie villain, and we will die on that hill. He’s the original Man in Finance, complete with an immaculate wardrobe, a flawless skincare routine, and a truly horrifying murderous streak. He can yap, he can flatter, and he can kill. A triple threat, if you will. But most importantly, he cleans up after himself! Nothing says boyfriend material quite like a man who appreciates a tidy apartment. Win! (We’re kidding. Mostly.)
