‘Outlander: Blood of My Blood’: Ellen Questions Brian’s Choices in First Look

Outlander: Blood of My Blood continues to raise the stakes, especially around Ellen MacKenzie (Harriet Slater) and Brian Fraser’s (Jamie Roy) romance as they contend with the Jacobite Uprising, her family’s disapproval, and his disdain for his father. In an exclusive first look at the latest episode, “A Portion of My Soul,” Ellen begins to question if it’s all worth it during a private moment with Brian.

In the sneak peek above, the couple take shelter in a tent, and Ellen addresses Brian’s choices: “My father would have called you daft,” she begins. “Throwing away titles, position…”

Despite the societal advantages he may be risking by pursuing romance with Ellen, Brian argues, “I threw away nothing.”

“No,” she counters, “You gave it all up for a woman, for a family not yet made.” Brian’s shock over Ellen’s blunt delivery is apparent as he takes in what she has to say. When he tries to put up a fight, she continues to push.

“Then what would you call yourself?” she asks. “A man who gives up everything for promises not yet kept?”

Despite Ellen’s uncertainty and worries about what comes next for them amid all of the hurdles in their way, Brian is reassuring her in the most romantic way possible with his response, which you’ll just have to watch and hear in the full clip above. Prepare to swoon.

Although this is just a taste of what’s to come in this latest episode, it could point to a larger conversation the pair will need to have, as Ellen revealed to her dying sister Janet (Ailsa Davidson) that she was pregnant. Could Ellen’s questioning of Brian now have something to do with that reality that is heading their way? Tune into the latest episode of Outlander: Blood of My Blood to find out.
