‘AGT’s Geno Ploeger Tells All About Sierra Boyd Romance & Their Upcoming Plans

Magician Geno Ploeger had something far better than a conjurer’s assistant with him when he competed in the Season 21 finale of America’s Got Talent on September 23: By his side was his fiancée, Sierra Boyd.
The two met when they were accepted as students to Arizona State University. They connected via the same Instagram account where incoming students could meet future classmates prior to their freshman year commencing.
“We met each other there,” Geno, who finished AGT in second place, tells Swooon. “We dated long distance for months, and then started college together.”
Geno says that he knew Sierra was the one for him when she supported his passion for magic and performing. “She believed in me throughout all of this,” he gushes, with a smile. “She’s given me so much confidence in myself to where I tell myself, ‘You know you can. Go do it!’”

He adds, “Sierra’s the one who is backstage with me, who no one sees, and she’s saying, ‘You got this!’ She’ll say, ‘Take a breath. Remember the things that we talked about. And you are going to go and rock it.’”
In turn, Geno supports Sierra’s photography business. “What’s really fun is that we’re both entrepreneurs, which is hard to find nowadays,” he muses. “Some people work in the corporate world, but she’s out there wanting to pursue her own business, too. It’s really cool to have both of us believing in ourselves [and each other], doing things that you may not normally see. It’s a little unorthodox.”
Pulling a rabbit out of a hat may be simple for Geno, but pulling off a surprise proposal? That was a bit trickier. Was he able to surprise Sierra when he popped the question in April? “Yes,” Geno says with a chuckle. “And I suck at surprises, but I definitely surprised her, so it was great.
Now, the two are planning a big wedding ceremony. “That’s coming up,” Geno teases (the couple’s wedding website reveals their big day is in March 2027).
The magician’s ultimate goal is to someday have his own show in Vegas and be doing magic full-time. He wants to be able to support Sierra and their family financially. “This is one of those careers where it’s hard to find someone who can believe in you, and she has put all of her faith in me,” Geno concludes.
