Put a gun to his head and Doug Brod will tell you that Six Feet Under, Mad Men, and Fawlty Towers are his all-time favorite TV shows. As well as Arrested Development (if you don’t count Season 4). He got his professional start working at a magazine that ran test reports of Betamax VCRs and laserdisc players. In the mid-'90s, he was a producer of the short-running MTV comedy-variety series Oddville, MTV, which featured a college kid who burped the alphabet, many alt-rock bands that never made it past one album, and Louis C.K. before he was Louie. Doug is also the former editor in chief of SPIN Magazine, was a long-time editor at Entertainment Weekly, and has contributed to numerous other publications, including The Hollywood Reporter, The Village Voice, and WSJ. Magazine. He once pontificated about the Grammys on Charlie Rose, and has appeared on VH1, Bravo, and Fox News, among other channels. He's currently the editor in chief of TV Guide Magazine and he’s kidding about the gun to his head.
