Sorry, Arrow, but The Flash found another show to have a crossover with: itself! With Season 2 hinging on Zoom’s reign of terror against Earth 2 and its Flash, Jay Garrick (Teddy Sears), it’s time for Barry (Grant Gustin) and Co. to kick off a two-part visit. “Barry decides to take the fight to Zoom on his home turf because luring him to our Earth didn’t work out so well,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg says. “And in the grand tradition of great alternative-universe stories like Back to the Future Part II, Doctor Who and Fringe, there are doppelgängers galore. Some people who are no longer with us are alive over there, some people who are good here are bad there and vice versa.”

Among the Earth 2 switcheroos are resident sweetheart Caitlin (Danielle Panabaker), who is revealed to be cold-blooded baddie Killer Frost in the other world, and her late hubby, Ronnie Raymond (Robbie Amell), known there as Deathstorm. “They’re this sort of metahuman Bonnie and Clyde of that world,” Kreisberg explains. “We’ve been teasing Killer Frost for a long time, and getting to see Danielle revel in her bad side…the closest thing I can liken it to is vampire Willow from Buffy the Vampire Slayer.”

Of course, it’s not all about Earth-2. “There’s also a crisis on Earth 1, so half the team is dealing with that,” says Kreisberg, adding that the mash-up of these Earths, concluding in next week’s episode, gives fans the best of both worlds. “There are scenes that are hilarious and scenes that are terrifying. It’s everything at once,” he says. “As I always say, we’re proud of them all, but we’re especially proud of this one.”
