Grammys Fashion Highs and Lows (PHOTOS)
The Grammys are sartorially bolder than the high-falutin’ fashion of other ceremonies this awards season. Here, a look at some of the highs and lows:
The Stars that Rocked
From left: Gwen Stefani looked rocker-chic in a black Atelier Versace jumpsuit; Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin) looked sweet and innocent in a simple, white Christos Costarellos gown with a teal zipper detail; Beyoncé arrived wearing a sexy Proenza Schouler deep plunging, black lace gown; Miranda Lambert put her body on display in a tight, black Gabriela Cadena gown with hot-pink straps (and a pout to match); Taylor Swift showed off shapely legs and a tiny frame in a turquoise high-low Elie Saab gown; and Ciara went for a more dramatic look in a one shoulder, black ruffled Alexandre Vauthier Couture gown cinched with a gold belt.
Stars That Dared To Bare
Anna Kendrick smoldered in a plunging Band of Outsiders blazer and pant look; Katharine McPhee (Scorpion and Smash) left little to the imagination in a backless, coral Emilio Pucci dress; Lady Gaga bared all in a Brandon Maxwell metallic gown; Bonnie McKee looked 90’s glam wearing an eggplant bodycon dress with chunky gold accessories; Nicki Minaj flaunted her assets in a dominatrix-inspired, black-fringe Tom Ford gown; Ariana Grande went for a more mature look in a Atelier Versace asymmetrical white gown with a thigh-high slit; and Kim Kardashian West was a golden goddess in a Jean Paul Gaultier beaded gown.
Fashion Disasters
Joy Villa‘s orange traffic mesh is more fishing net than gown; Madonna mooned in Givenchy Haute Couture; Jane Fonda‘s Balmain jumpsuit is questionable at best; Sia‘s platnium wig is wearing her; Kaya Jones looks like a Xena-Rockette-peacock in an ensemble of unknown origin ; Charli XCX channels the Good Humor man; and Iggy Azalea‘s braid crown is not the realest.
Is It a Hit? Or a Miss?
Katy Perry sparkles in a Zuhair Murad dress and Rihanna swans in Giambattista Valli Haute Couture confection. We can’t decide if we love them or hate them or both.
