The Biggest Loser Season 17 Returns With First Survivor Winner Richard Hatch (VIDEO)
A whole new year means a whole new set of weight loss resolutions for the latest crop of Biggest Loser contestants.
When the show returns for Season 17 on Monday, Jan. 4, everything (along with the contestants) will be brand new: the host (Bob Harper), the theme ("Temptation"), the gym, the series format and even the show's logo.
The newest season will revisit the team format, with eight pairs competing for the $250,000 grand prize. Seven pairs include mostly relatives, like twin brothers, a mother and daughter, plus a wife and husband. The eighth pair will be two former reality show contestants who have never met: Richard Hatch, the original Season 1 Survivor winner who also appeared on Season 11 of Celebrity Apprentice, and Erin Willett from Season 2 of The Voice.
And since the theme is "Temptation," contestants will be spending more time in the real world facing all kinds of temptations that include food, mobile devices and money. But returning trainers Dolvett Quince and Jen Widerstrom will be on hand to whip everyone into shape in the renovated gymnasium, which will have high-tech wall monitors to track calories and heart rates, plus new double scales to pit teams against each other.
