New Fargo Season 2 Trailer Promises Post-Nixon Paranoia (VIDEO)

Cristin Milioti and Patrick Wilson in season 2 of Fargo

Luverne, Minnesota is about a four-hour drive from Fargo, North Dakota. It's also where Vietnam vet Lou Solverson (Patrick Wilson) and his wife, Betsy (Cristin Milioti), have made their home in 1979. He's a State Trooper drawn into a rather sprawling case involving the northern branch of a Kansas City crime syndicate (headed up by Brad Garrett) and a Fargo crime family (the Gerhardts), who, like the Bennett clan in Season 2 of FX's Justified, have a mom at the top (Jean Smart) and three sons ranging from "big and dumb" to "average and slightly less dumb" to "scrawny and unstable" (Angus Sampson, Jeffrey Donovan, and Kieran Culkin, respectively).

There's also Nick Offerman as the town drunk/lawyer, Jesse Plemons and Kirsten Dunst as a couple just trying to save up to buy a butcher shop, Ted Danson as Lou's father-in-law, and a 4-year-old version of Molly Solverson—the hero in Season 1 of Noah Hawley's anthology series. This seems like a lot of info, but the trailer below elegantly sets up all the pieces, with a heaping helping of Minnesota "Nice" besides.

Season 2 of Fargo will premiere in October on FX.
