The freshman, sci-fi drama Time After Time has been canceled after five episodes, due to low ratings.

Deadline.com reported Match Game will take over its Sunday-night, time slot and there are no current plans to air the remaining episodes produced.

ABC's small-screen adaptation of Karl Alexander's novel starred Freddie Stroma as H.G. Wells, Josh Bowman as John Stevenson/Jack the Ripper, Genesis Rodriguez as Jane and Nicole Ari Parker as Vanessa Anders.

"Well... finding out through twitter is a huge bummer," Rodriguez tweeted Wednesday, along with a link to Entertainment Weekly's coverage of the cancellation.
