Thank you for being a friend, Hulu! At this morning's Television Critics Association (TCA) Winter 2017 press tour, Craig Erwich, SVP and head of content for the streaming network, announced that the classic sitcom will be added to Hulu's collection beginning Feb. 13 (or, as Erwich says they are calling it, "Galentine's Day").
The complete library of the 1985-92 series will be available to stream all in one place for the first time, on Hulu. Bea Arthur, Betty White, Rue McClanahan and Estelle Getty headlined the series, which won 11 of its 58 Emmy nominations. It's one of the earlier, and more iconic, examples of a series depicting aging, especially among women, as a time that can still be vibrant and fun. Popular during its original run, the series has also, over the past 30 years, been discovered by younger audiences, and has become a particular favorite among gay men.
