The ties that bind Harvey Specter (Gabriel Macht) to his fear of abandonment crept back into Suits in this week’s mid-season premiere as the firm faced the exit of Jessica Pearson (Gina Torres). In the light of her departure, the slickest lawyer in town lost his cool on Louis (Rick Hoffman) and risked pushing away Mike (Patrick J. Adams) with his meddling, eventually caving to Donna (Sarah Rafferty) that “they’re all leaving.”
Thankfully, Donna is 100% awesome, because she wisely urged her beloved boss to make peace with his fractured family of origin before his demons destroyed all of his relationships. And since she is also the only woman who can get through to him, our hero Harvey is heading to Boston next week to finally face his mother Lily (Daytime Emmy nominee Brynn Thayer) and the years-old rage he’s been carrying about her cheating on his late father, as well as his brother Marcus (The Young & the Restless‘ three-time Emmy winner Billy Miller), whom he has grown apart from since the Specters fell apart.
