MacGyver, CBS’s new action-adventure series, premiered big— reaching 10.7 million viewers, TV’s most watched Friday scripted premiere since 2010. The action continues in the October 14 episode, when Mac (Lucas Till, above) has to stop the detonation of a Soviet-era nuke. “The problem is that the keyboard that controls it is broken,” says Till. “He ends up using the bomb’s creator to help him diffuse it.”

Mac also gets some help from his friends, “as he is still haunted by the betrayal of former flame and double agent Nikki Carpenter,” says executive producer Peter Lenkov. One catch: While his colleagues (from left above) Jack (George Eads) and Riley (Tristin Mays) know about Nikki’s treachery, buddies Wilt (Justin Hires) and Penny (Bianca Malinowski) think Mac works in IT and Nikki died in a car crash. Talk about getting out of a tight spot!
