Disney Channel Begins Casting for ‘High School Musical 4’

High School Musical

The Wildcats are back!

Disney Channel announced today that an open casting call has begun for High School Musical 4, the latest installment in the incredibly popular franchise. This film is set to introduce new East High Wildcats, as well as their cross-town rivals, the West High Knights.

High School Musical 4 will be directed by Jeffrey Hornaday (Teen Beach Movie) and will be written by Dan Barendson (Hannah Montana: The Movie) and Peter Barsocchini (High School Musical).

The first HSM was a huge phenomenon when it was first release in 2006, and spawned two sequels, including High School Musical 2 (2006) and High School Musical 3 (2008), which was shown in theaters and saw the original class graduating.

The franchise also launched several major stars, including Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgens, and a few of them gathered earlier this year to celebrate HSM’s 10-year anniversary. Whether any original actors will return for the fourth movie is uncertain, but a new cast of characters will be introduced. Get more information about the casting call at disneychannel.com/opencall.

So head back to East High and revisit the memories. What team?! Wildcats!!
