Would ‘The Goldbergs’ Survive on a Family Vacation? (VIDEO)
Wendi McLendon-Covey (Beverly) and Sean Giambrone (Adam) may play mother and son on screen, but they also share plenty of similarities off screen.
The Goldbergs will be paying homage to Dirty Dancing this year, so we asked the two actors to choose between Dirty Dancing and Footloose. Both chose the Patrick Swayze/Jennifer Grey romance without hesitation. Giambrone’s own mom got him into romantic movies, and as McLendon-Covey points out, “Vacation romance is better…and the dress that Baby wore was gorgeous!”

So what classic ’80s movie tribute should the series focus on next? “I would love to see National Lampoon’s Vacation…or Airplane!,” says McLendon-Covey, and Giambrone agrees a vacation with the whole family on a cross-country road trip—stuck together in one car—would definitely be comic gold.
