What’s Worth Watching: How to Get Away With Murder’s Killer Return

How to Get Away With Murder, “Hello Raskolnikov” (Thursday, Jan. 29, 10/9c, ABC)

Here’s a tactic for getting away with murder: pretend the victim is still alive. When HTGAWM returns tonight, killer Wes (Alfred Enoch) and accomplices Connor (Jack Falahee), Laurel (Karla Souza), and Michaela (Aja Naomi King) join the police search for their law professor Annalise’s (Viola Davis) missing husband, Sam (Tom Verica)—whose body they torched the preceding night. But, hey, it’s what Annalise—who knows of Sam’s fate—instructs them to do. She’s the famous defense attorney; they’ve been law students for, what, half a TV season?

Annalise’s motives, however, are forever suspect. So is whether or not Sam himself was a killer (the Lila Stangard murder trial is still a go, remember.) Not that it matters. Tonight is all about watching the catty student criminals snipe at each other as they crack under pressure. And when it comes to the verbal bitch-slap? It’s Connor for the win!
