What’s Worth Watching: Dwayne Johnson Rocks Your Face Off on Lip Sync Battle

Lip Sync Battle, “Jimmy Fallon vs. Dwayne Johnson” (Thursday, April 2, 10/9c, Spike TV)

It’s unclear why NBC let this gem slip away to Spike TV, but as long as it’s airing somewhere, we’re happy. Fallon’s recurring “lip sync battle” bit on The Tonight Show, which pits the host against his celebrity guests to see who’s better at performing the hell out of popular songs sans actual singing, expands into its own standalone show and adds costumes, back-up singers, and all sorts of other window dressing. The heightened level of showmanship makes the battles between celebrities all the more entertaining, though it’s hard to imagine anyone topping either Emma Stone or Paul Rudd’s outstanding turns on The Tonight Show.
