You can’t accuse Living Different–a docuseries about unconventional women–of not delivering on its title. The January 20th episode features Perl Wolfe and Dalia Shusterman, Brooklyn-based pals trying to launch a rock band called Bulletproof Stockings. The twist? They’re Hasidic Jews who play to female-only audiences. “As far as we know, we’re the first to attempt this,” says Shusterman.

With cameras in tow, the duo tries to break into New York City’s live-music circuit, as well as address misconceptions about their community. “We want to shed light on what we’re about. We’re not as limited as people assume,” says Shusterman. Still, their agenda is clear: “Our mission is to promote a good time for women and hopefully increase record sales,” says Wolfe. “Oh, and it would be great if we could get on Ellen DeGeneres’s show. Ellen, call us–we’re waiting!”
