Screen Actors Guild Awards: ‘Game of Thrones’, ‘Stranger Things’ and ‘The Big Bang Theory’ Score Nominations

The nominees for the 23rd annual Screen Actors Guild Awards were announced Wednesday morning. Several new shows, including Netflix’s buzz-magnet Stranger Things and HBO’s ambitious sci-fi epic Westworld, made the ballot, which recognizes individual and ensemble performances in TV and film. Stranger Things landed two nominees in the Female Actor in a Drama Series category, Winona Ryder and Millie Bobby Brown.

Sterling K. Brown had a great day, scoring nods for his individual work on both NBC’s breakout drama This Is Us and FX’s acclaimed miniseries The People v. O.J. Simpson. His O.J. costars Courtney B. Vance and Sarah Paulson were also nominated.

The SAG Awards will be handed out Sunday, Jan. 29 at the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles. The ceremony will air live at 8/7c (5 p.m./PT) on both TBS and TNT.
