‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’s Rachel Bloom Praises CW After Golden Globes Win

Golden Globes - key artThe Golden Globe Awards got crazy on Sunday night when first-time nominee Rachel Bloom took home the trophy for Best Actress in a Television Comedy or Musical for her role as Rebecca Bunch in The CW’s Crazy Ex-Girlfriend.

“It’s heavy, it’s marble and I feel like a Greek god,” Bloom told reporters backstage while clutching her award.

Bloom’s win marks the second consecutive victory the same category for The CW, following Gina Rodriguez’s win last year for Jane the Virgin. In her acceptance speech, Bloom described the show’s tumultuous journey, which began as a Showtime pilot and was rescued by The CW after the cable network passed. Bloom’s adoration for The CW and her bosses continued backstage.

“The CW has supported us creatively throughout every single step of the way,” Bloom said. “We look forward to getting network notes. The CW lets creators create, give syou freedom and shows support. I think The CW is fan f—ing tastic!”
