Fox Orders New Series ‘Shots Fired’, About Racial Tension in a Small Town

Another new drama series is in the works over at Fox, which just invested in Shots Fired, which takes a page from current news by focusing on racial tension in a small Tennessee town after recent shootings.

FOXThe mystery-thriller series is helmed by executive producers Gina Prince-Bythewood and Reggie Rock Bythewood, who also serve as writers, and stars Sanaa Lathan (the voice of Donna Tubbs on Family Guy and The Cleveland Show) as an investigator who works alongside a Department of Justice special prosecutor to review racially-charged cases while also managing the scrutiny of the public eye.

David Madden, president of entertainment at Fox Broadcasting Company shared, “Gina and Reggie have crafted a profoundly moving portrayal of a timely and sensitive issue that pervades our culture at this very moment.”
